The White Leaved Oak is an ancient and magical Oak tree ,hidden in a valley in the Malvern Hills,Worcestershire,England.
The Oak is believed to be over 1000 years old and locals still visit the tree to hang offerings and prayers from it's branches.
The Oak which is now standing is believed to grow on ancient earthworks which probably marked a holy or buriel mound. The tree is also believed to originate from an acorn belonging to an Oak which really did have white leaves (hence its name)
This Oak tree has green leaves like a normal Oak, but I took the photograph with an Infra red filter which turns all green foliage to white.
Photograph taken last September (2006)
