| I have always been drawn towards the magical and the mystical. I have a natural love of wild and rugged landscapes and the Old beliefs and legends attached to such places. I see the world around me more through the eyes of Tolkien's Middle Earth than the 21st centaury chaos that we live in, and this is what I am trying to capture in both my Artwork and my Photography......the Mystery of Celtic Britain. Human being may have shaped and polluted a lot of this Island, but we are just passing through time and the earth will endure long after we have gone. It is this strength and majesty that I see when I am standing in the Highlands of Scotland or the valleys of Wales with my camera. My love of the changing seasons and the Old Celtic Festivals and Celebrations attached to the wheel of the year. They give me a sense of the magical all year round....... from the silver frosts of Winter Solstice to the green fertile bounty of Mayday. My Artwork reflects the Old ways, some still honoured and celebrated in corners of rural Britain. I have already had several Artworks and Photographs published in books and magazines and this is something I would like to do more of in the future. I would also like to do more work such as CD/Book cover design or illustrating for story books. My ultimate ambition is to write and illustrate my own book of the Celtic year and the changing seasons. |
